Position Summary
• We seek a Bilingual Pharmacy Manager/Pharmacist-in-Charge to supervise and direct the pharmacy processes, and activities of personnel, to ensure the efficient and timely dispensing of medications to all patients, while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws of the State Board of Pharmacy. The Pharmacist-Manager in this role Reports to the Regional Operations Manager and/or Director of Operations and accepts responsibility for the operation of a pharmacy, as the pharmacist-in-charge in conformance with all statutes and regulations pertinent to the practice of pharmacy in his/her respective state of licensure.
Education and Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
• Two years of experience as a Pharmacy Operations Manager/Supervisor or 5 years of compounding retail pharmacy experience
• Bilingual (English/Spanish required)
Licensure/certification/registration:
• Texas Board of Pharmacy
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and members of the clinic staff
• Fill new prescriptions and refills of medications, including using various forms of compliance packaging.
• Ordering and maintenance of appropriate inventory controls within the pharmacy.
• Management, Within the guidelines of the authorized protocol, of storage and designation of sample medications, and patient assistance program medications to clients of the clinic, as required.
• Establish and maintain excellent professional working relationships with the medical director, provider staff, case managers and other clinic staff, as the primary contact between the pharmacy and the clinic.
• Provide drug consultation services to patients and clinic staff, when required.
• Frequently communicate with physicians and physicians’ offices to clarify, and/or obtain proper prescription details, insurance, or prior authorization information.
• Oversee controlled substance logs and inventory
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the pharmacy staff including, but not limited to pharmacy technicians, staff pharmacists, cashiers, and drivers. This includes ensuring all licensed professionals’ certifications are active and in good standing.
• Manage rejected claims, conduct gross margin analysis, and generate reports for management, as requested.
• Sign and retain all documentation required as Pharmacy Manager/Pharmacist of Record
• Monitor and ensure compliance with all DEA requirements for assigned pharmacy
• Participate in clinic committee and staff meetings
• Assume all operation responsibilities including financial performance, ensuring that company metrics and goals are delivered.
• Promote and increase sales to ensure development of a profitable business unit and continued growth
• Human Resources:
o Training and development of team members
o Responsible for hiring, coaching, and terminating employees
o Provide consistent feedback to direct reports
o Manage time off, payroll, overtime
o Deliver employee performance reviews
• Identifying and delivering new growth opportunities, which may be from partnering agency or external accounts
• Execute monthly marketing event with clinic partners
• Execute quarterly lunch and learn with clinic partners
• Ensure timely processing of all prescriptions, including waiting customers.
• Knowledge of federal and state requirements for filling rxs and insurance compliance
• Ensure online training is completed and training completed for each employee
• Administration of vaccine and point of care testing
• Educational or Skills Requirements:
o Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy
o Current pharmacist license in the state you are applying for
o Pharmacy Management experience preferred but not required
o APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certificate or equivalent.
o Bloodborne pathogen training
o CPR Certification
o ReNue RX will provide training if necessary.
